Joe Thornsberry's

This month we feature Joe Thornsberry's 1988 Saleen. You may have seen his '88 at the Saleenfest~Midwest in 2004, or in Kentucky catching up with Steve Saleen. Below are a few words from Joe. Enjoy!

While attending the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Ford Mustang in
Nashville, TN at the Super Speedway on Saturday, April 17th 2004 I purchased
a 1988 Mustang Saleen. After the purchase I return to my home in Frankfort,
Kentucky and several days later I returned to Tennessee to pick up the car.
Back in Frankfort I ran a car fax on the vehicle to confirm the original
owner, previous owners and found out I was owner #5. After much cleaning
and some detail I contacted SALEEN, Inc. to verify my car. Later by mail, I
received written authenticity of my #88-0156, black exterior; gray interior
hatchback with gold graphics was 1 of 7 with this color combination that
year. The information went on to say that the vehicle was ordered by Two
Rivers Ford, Inc. in Nashville, TN on December 17, 1987 and delivered on
January 30, 1988. Saleen records also showed that Kelly Lee Morris
purchased this Saleen. After talking with the salesman, who by the way
still works for Two Rivers Ford, that sold this vehicle originally, I was
surprised to find out that Kelly Lee Morris is really LEE GREENWOOD the
country music singer. Needless to say this treasure will never be for
sale. My wife and I love to drive the car and do so as often as we can.
The car has 47K actual miles and is in show room new condition.
