On
Friday, everyone was greeted with
a Welcome BBQ at the Overlook Park
on the Ohio River and a cruise for
Ice Cream. As always this
provided the perfect opportunity
to relax and catch up with all of
our Saleen friends.
Saturday started with the car
show. 20 Saleen Mustangs were on
hand along with few very nice
Mustangs. The focus this year was
on the SC's and once again we were
treated to a very special display
put on by Stu & Patti Akers, along
with Ken McDowell and Larry Hill
(all the way from North
Carolina!).
This included 4 of the only 13
Saleen SC cars built in 1990, and
3 of the only 5 done in red! Even
more impressive was Stu's complete
restoration of black #18 that
literally had its finishing
touches put on Thursday night!

Following the group dinner at
Rocky's Italian Grill, the go-cart
event was scrapped in favor of a
relaxing evening by the pool.
Another great opportunity to share
stories and toss a few back!
Sundays Road Rallye went off
without a hitch, well unless you
consider yours truly "quitting" a
hitch! The course was tough, but
everyone else managed to finish
about 20 minutes over on time.
There were ten cars that ventured
out on the scenic route, and
unfortunately for the SCOA members
the local Falls City Mustangs
group whipped up on us!
After
lunch a few of us took the liberty
to sneak into an old abandoned
warehouse to take some pictures.
With the sunlight bleeding in and
some puddles on the ground, this
provided the perfect setting for
some great pictures! Check out my

From
there it was time to pack up and
hit the road - another Midwest
Regionals weekend in the books. I
would personally like to thank
Charlie & Sandy Smith for all of
their work in hosting another
successful event. Thanks also to
all of you that made it out! This
is one of the events Tracy & I
will look forward to for years to
come!
Help
spread the word over the next 12
months. The Saleen Club of
America is all about Saleens,
Friendships & Fun - and we only
have room to grow! See you next
year.

Smith, Central Region Director
