On July 1st,
the third annual “Planes, Manes
and Automobiles” show was held
at the EAA Airventure museum in
Oshkosh, WI.
Despite a threat
of severe weather forecast
throughout the day, (we did get
2 brief 5 minute showers), about
265 Ford Powered vehicles were
in attendance, including a
unprecedented display of rare
SALEEN’s! There were fox
body’s, XP8’s, Speedsters, a
351, a Sportruck (Ranger) and
the almighty S7 Twin Turbo!
Participants as
well as spectators were able to
tour the world famous aviation
museum and take helicopter
rides. Unfortunately, the young
eagles program was cancelled
because of high winds. The
young eagles program is set up
by instructors to take 7-17 year
olds for a flight lesson for
free. Hopefully Mother Nature
will cooperate next year.
After the show we
took a cruise to Fratello’s
Restaurant on the beautiful fox
river. After dinner we took a
cruise to Green Bay, WI where we
got a personal tour of Genaddi
Design Groups facility where the
Ford GTX-1’s are built. (as
well as the GTX-B and other
coachwork for fine automobiles).
A special thanks
to Michael Jaber who coordinated
the show and to Mark Gerish for
the tour of his shop. Come out
and join us next year for the
premier Mustang show in
Wisconsin!
