Well, if it’s
November, then that means it’s
again time for the Mid-Atlantic
Region’s annual Turkey Trot Cruise
in Maryland. This year, we
scheduled the event for the first
weekend in November, to try for
better weather. What a chilly
surprise we got when the morning
temperature had dropped to 23
degrees! At least the old
intercooler temperature would stay
cool.
Attendance was a
bit off, as it seemed that several
things worked against us, but we
had six very different cars make
it to the start. They included a
98 V-6 track toy project with a
full roll cage, a beautiful Azure
Blue 04 Mach 1, 06 Black GT with
custom bodywork, and a Redfire 07
GT with the complete Cervini
C-series kit. Attending from the
Saleen world, was a 03 SA-20 and a
06 S281 S/C with a significant
amount of engine work.
After having
breakfast at the Nautilus Diner,
we got off to a later start than
planned and came upon a bit more
traffic than expected. Even with
the cold start, the morning turned
into a great fall cruising day and
we weren’t the only ones to think
that. About half way through our
drive we became tangled up with a
motorcycle group running the same
route. It took a few miles to get
everyone back into our group
because the road was very twisty
with few places to put over.
Even with the small
group, we all had an enjoyable
time. Now, if you are in the
Mid-Atlantic region come next
November, keep open the first
Saturday for another Turkey Trot
