OK here we go. The first event of
the 2008 season will be hosted by the Kentucky State
SCOA REP Joe Thornsberry and we are headed to the heart
of Whiskey Country on a driving tour Saturday, April 5,
2008.
It
will be early in the year for road trips with weather in
Kentucky at that time very unpredictable however we will
schedule a RAIN DATE for May 31, 2008 just in case.
- ITINERARY:
- We will start with a
garage tour at Joe's place for 10 AM.
- Then set out to Four
Roses Distillery for an informative tour about
Kentucky Bourbon
- a late lunch at Tony's
BBQ Barn (no alcohol).
- DIRECTIONS
- Take I-64 East from
Louisville (I-65) and West from Lexington
(I-75) exiting at 53B mile marker.
Traveling Martha Layne Collins/Bluegrass Parkway
from Elizabethtown, Kentucky exit 59
(Lawrenceburg) go north onto U.S. Hwy 127 and
cross over I-64. From I-64 & US Highway 127 go
north 9 lights and turn right. At the stop sign
turn left and go 1/2 mile to
710 Devils Hollow Road.
This will be a one day outing however
if travel time is necessary the following accommodations
are available, Holiday Inn Express, 1000 Vandalay Drive
and Hampton Inn, 1310 U.S. Highway 127 South, Frankfort,
Kentucky.
