Mark LaMaskin's

1988 #0020R

"This car along with two other Saleen Mustangs finished 1-2-3 at Mosport Park's 24 hour race, in the Escort Endurance Series.

This car is well documented. It’s previously been driven by Desire' Wilson, Lisa Caceras, Calvin Fish, Steve Saleen, Rick Titus, Lian Dirarte, Tommy Archer, Pete Halsmer, Steve Perkins and Mustang Don (Don Rositch). Partially restored by Mustang Don's in 1995 after a brief meeting with the turn two tire wall at Sears Point Raceway. Maintained by Don from 1990 to 2001. Finally it was sold to Mark LaMaskin at Performance Autosport in Richmond VA.

The Escort series was for “stock” cars with minimal shock upgrades and roll cages. The cars all had to be production models with VIN numbers. The idea was to put all the manufactures together and let them race their production models.

The Saleen factory team built 3 cars for the 1988 season: 19R, 20R and 21R. They were all built from brand new cars with no power windows, door locks, or A/C. Saleen had Dave Dixon build custom balanced Showroom stock motors. The motor in the 20R car puts down 254 HP and 310ft.lbs of torque to the wheels on our dyno. That is equal to 299hp at the engine. Hmmmm…show room stock?

I bought it as an investment and to have fun at track day car."
