NOVEMBER

By Stu Akers, Owner

Back in Jan. 2004 I bought my first SC: 90-21.  Ever since then I wanted another SC.  So I found 90 SC-18 in March of 2005 in rough shape with 125,000 miles showing on the odometer.  Someone powder coated the valve covers and the Saleen intake white.  The headers, prom m elbow, 70 mm mass air, radio, Monroe g.p. shocks, and the radiator were all missing from the car.  We tore the car all apart in Jan. 06 and took it to perfection collision center in Indy for the paint.  In July of 06 I trailered the car home with no interior, ground effects, windshield, dash, instruments, carpet, etc.

We had the seats recovered at J and E Upholstery here in Indy. With all of this done assembly was started with a new windshield Carlite/Ford brand.  Then the interior was finished up.  Here at the Saleen Ranch two days before the Jeffersonville show we got the ground effects back on and worked all night installing them.  The body shop wheels were removed and the SC wheels were installed, along with the Saleen decals.  We have a new engine / clutch / transmission ready to go into 90-18 so stayed tuned for that article in an upcoming issue of PoweRRR.
