TACOMA, Wash. (Nov. 20, 2019) — For the next 12 months, racing fans, high-performance car buffs and other automotive enthusiasts can get up-close and personal with historic vehicles and articles from a true American automotive legend – all at a world-class museum facility in the Pacific Northwest.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, LeMay: America’s Auto Museum (ACM) in Tacoma, Wash. opened the facility’s first year-long lifetime retrospective dedicated to a single automotive personality – internationally acclaimed racer-turned-vehicle manufacturer Steve Saleen, and his Corona, Calif.-based company, Saleen Automotive.

The exhibit, “Saleen: A Journey from the Heart of a Racer to America’s Supercar” offers visitors a unique display of Steve Saleen’s rich automotive history, spanning over four decades. Visitors can enjoy a variety of historic vehicles on display, including Steve Saleen’s personal racing machines, early Saleen Mustangs, the Saleen S7 (considered America’s first supercar), and examples of the company’s new Saleen 1 midengine turbocharged sports car and recently unveiled Saleen 1 GT4 concept race car. The exhibit initially features 17 Saleen vehicles, with additional cars rotating into the exhibit throughout the year-long display.

The Saleen exhibit at ACM officially opened to the public on Saturday with a ‘Saleen and Caffeine’ event that invited visitors to meet Steve Saleen and enjoy a guided tour of the display. The exhibit opened to record attendance on Saturday morning, with Saleen owners and enthusiasts across the Pacific Northwest gathering for the event.

ELKHART LAKE, Wisc. (Sept 23, 2019) — The battle for points continued in the penultimate round of the Saleen Cup, held at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisc. September 21 as 14 drivers competed in the single-make racing series by California-based Saleen Automotive.

The Saleen Cup series was introduced to demonstrate the new Saleen 1 sports car while offering a turnkey racing experience for drivers in two distinct classes. The “Pro-Am Drivers” class includes experienced racing drivers, while a “Young Drivers” class gives prospective young drivers an opportunity to start a career in professional motorsports. Category champions in the Saleen Cup will each secure a factory seat driving in Saleen’s GT4 entry for the entire 2020 season.

Mathew Keegan of Ladera Ranch, Calif. stood atop the podium in the “Pro-Am Drivers” class after Saturday’s race, while Carter Fartuch of Schnecksville, Penn. took top position in the “Young Drivers” class after highly competitive race at the historic Wisconsin circuit. A second race scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 22 was canceled due to inclement weather.

The Road America races mark the third of four events in the 2019 Saleen Cup schedule, culminating in a grand finale event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Oct. 18-20. As the initial return to professional-level motorsports for Saleen Automotive, the Saleen Cup series will pave the way for the company’s first entry into GT4 in 2020.

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Sept 3, 2019) — Drivers convened at Watkins Glen International over Labor Day weekend for two days of competitive racing in the latest round of the Saleen Cup – a single-make “arrive and drive” racing series hosted by California-based Saleen Automotive.

Designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the new Saleen 1 turbocharged 450 horsepower sports car, the Saleen Cup offers turnkey racing for drivers in two distinct classes – a Pro-Amateur (“Pro-Am”) class for experienced drivers and a “Young Drivers” class, which gives prospective young drivers an opportunity to start a career in professional motorsports.

Brandon Davis of Sonoma, Calif. and Eric Powell of Orlando, Fla. stood atop the podium in the “Pro-Am Drivers” class during races on Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1, while Austin Riley of Uxbridge, Ontario Canada and Hanna Zellers of Granger, Ind. took top honors in the “Young Drivers” class.

2018 Saleens Invade San Antonio

Texas’ premier Saleen event is back with another fun filled weekend in the beautiful Texas hill-country.
Not limited to Saleens, welcome to Mustangs and other Fords.

Thursday: Early birds can check in at camp as early as Thursday afternoon. Chad will make arrangements for grub based on the collective interest.
Friday: Meet and greet hanging out at the camp, dinner and libations
Saturday: Hill country cruising, including winery tour
Saturday evening: Dinner and libations at camp
Sunday: See ya sendoff

Accommodations take a couple of forms. You can stay at a hotel in Kerrville, or you can stay at the focal point, at the summer youth camp that sits nestled in the hills on the edge of a river. There’s a small fee to stay there and it’s bunk-house type accommodations with communal bathroom/showers. This is where the fun happens, sometimes into the wee hours of the night under the October moon, with the campfire lit and stories flowing.

The location of the 2019 Saleen Club of America Nationals was announced Saturday night during the banquet at the 15th Annual SCOA Nationals in Charlotte, NC. Next year we will all be heading to Deadwood, South Dakota June 26-30, 2019!

This new, off-road Saleen Sport Truck XR will debut at 7 pm on Friday, July 20th at Harris Ford Lincoln, 20006 64th Avenue W, Lynnwood, WA. Steve Saleen’s legendary racing history includes driving in and winning more races than any other driver in the SCCA PRO Truck Series. To build the best off-road Saleen Sportruck, Saleen collaborated with Greg Foutz on this offering.

Stopping is handled with Saleen’s Signature brakes standard on all versions in 13.8 -inch ABS vented front rotors with 2-piston calipers on fronts and 13.8 ABS vented rear rotors with 1-piston calipers on the rear. Optional are Saleen COLORLAB™ painted brake calipers, and either13.6-inch or 14-inch ABS slotted front rotors with 6-piston calipers.

The storied Saleen XR Suspension is the front 2.5 coil-over shocks to level out the front with the rear, and rear 2.5 Smooth Series shocks. The Black Label utilizes Saleen upper and lower control arms, Saleen Spindle, Fox tuned for Saleen, front shocks with by-pass for 12-inches of travel, Saleen rear leaf springs and Saleen bump stop with frame gusset, and Saleen custom-tuned rear by-pass shocks for 14-inches of travel.

Exterior trim includes Saleen windshield banner, Saleen door chevron stripes, Saleen 30th Championship wreath, and Saleen serialized front bumper numbers.
